Native to the misty, mountainous regions of Southern China, the Litsea cubeba tree (known locally as “May Chang”) has been a staple of traditional wellness for centuries. But its true power lies in its berries. When steam-distilled, these small, pepper-like fruits yield an essential oil rich in citral—a powerhouse component that delivers an intense, lemony-fresh aroma that refuses to quit.
While the rest of the world sees “Essential Oil” as a commodity to be traded, diluted, and brokered by a dozen middlemen, we see it as an agricultural craft.
